Update - April 17, 2005

The outside is nearly
finished! Abner checks out the opening for the dog doors that
will be installed into each individual run.
This weekend the guys
spent their time laying the roofing material down.
After the
interior of the building is finished, chain link out-door runs will
be built,
allowing dogs to go outdoors or stay inside during times
when they aren't able to be free in the play yards (i.e., after
spay/neuter surgery).
This winter a covering will be built
over the outdoor runs which will provide dogs the ability to go
outside even when it's too rainy for running in the play yards.

Excuse the
construction mess!
From the outside everything looks finished,
but as you can see from the photo BELOW, there's still quite a bit
of work to do on the interior of the building.

Peter has been
completing the insulation. This weekend the drywall was
installed in the ceiling and the walls will be done this upcoming
week.

Update - March 13, 2005

Sue Ann enjoys the porch area outside the nearly-finished utility
room.

Ed, Peter and my dad took advantage
of the break in rain to begin framing the expansion to the kennels
this weekend.
Four walls completed - two to go! Lady Gatsby assists the
guys!

of the kennel.
Update - February 5, 2005
Framing utility room where dogs can
be washed in a raised bathtub, and towels & blankets can be
laundered in heavy-duty washers & dryers. This addition will
also allow us to store extra food, treats, medications and other
supplies for the dogs in our program.

We are in the process of expanding our
kennels where dogs waiting for adoption sleep at night.
