Ed and I live in sunny Southern California with our son , Jeremy, and our houseful of furry children which is comprised of three Golden Retrievers, three Poodles and three cats.  As a native Californian, I can't imagine living any where else.   I grew up with animals of all kinds: horses, ducks, goats, sheep, and of course, cats and dogs.   I guess I must have inherited my passion for animals, because they've become part of my identity.  "A house is simply not a home without a little hair!"

Ed & I both enjoyed childhoods where we spent lots of time outdoors with property upon which to ride our bikes, ride horses, and enjoy birds and other wildlife.  It was pretty natural for us as adults to abandon the track-home lifestyle, so in 1999 we purchased our five-acre property which we've been busy developing since!   Big-time "do-it-yourselfers," we've fully fenced the property, planted a variety of trees (nearly 100!), installed irrigation and drip system for the trees and plants, built kennels to care for the Goldens and Poodles waiting for adoption through our non-profit rescue group, and created separate play yards for the foster dogs.  We've converted our garage and expanded it to create a guest-house or apartment for my father-in-law, built a grooming room and storage area for bathing the dogs and storing their supplies and dog food.  Mostly done with the dogs areas, the last few months have been the most fun!  We remodeled our home, and started the landscaping near the house.  We've put in a custom, in-ground pool, and we're in the process of landscaping, putting in more trees and grass, as well as a wrap-around patio where we can sit to enjoy the yard and pool.

You can't see sunsets like this in the city!

When we're not outside with the dogs or working on the property, we also enjoy playing board & card games (especially Monopoly and Cribbage!), researching our family history, reading a book, or just relaxing in front of the TV (big screen...yay!)
