Barkley
1991 - 2002

Barkley joined our family March 12,
1999 and went to the Bridge March 23, 2002. He was obese, weighing in
at 124 lbs, and needed a diet, exercise, and
other basic veterinary care when he came to us. In a year, he'd lost
over thirty pounds and felt much better.
He had been through three homes in four months
before his last family turned him over to B.A.R.C.
We are very sad to lose our big red boy, but we're happy he spent his last
three years here with us instead of passed on and on yet again.

Barkley had a typical "velcro" golden
personality.
He loved to sit on the front porch and go for rides in the car.
His name demonstrated his vocal tendencies, as
he barked for food, barked at cats, barked to go
outside, and barked for attention.

Dexter sitting innocently enough next
to Barkley, who
discovered that the coffee table was a great place to nap!
Fetch looks on in the background.

This picture was taken the day
Barkley joined our family in 1999.
