Talk about
"adventures"! This trip to Jalama Beach in Lompoc (just
above Santa Barbara, CA) was truly an "adventure" in the purest
sense. Everything was fine after we got there, but leaving town was
the hard part. Our first day attempting to leave - dogs loaded in
the RV - my purse was stolen at our local Walmart. We headed for
home with plans to cancel the trip. The next day, however, after
setting up new accounts with banks, etc., we headed out anyway, and boy
are we glad we did! The dogs spent a LOT of time
in the car! Are we there yet???? After finally getting a site
(with electricity even!) we really began to relax. We had quite a
view! Another view from our
campsite. Down near the inlet where
the dogs could swim, there was lots of driftwood. The dogs had the
most fun in this area, where there are turtles and frogs and lots of
interesting wildlife. Access to parts of this area was restricted
due to endangered wildlife. While our dogs had no problem swimming
here, we were told that the game warden will cite those whose dogs attempt
to abscond with frogs, turtles, etc! Doggies swimming after
canoe-ing (how do you spell that??) campers while Fetch and I look on. Fetch watches the other dogs
