Announcing the addition of Scooter Bug,
the Tiny Toy Poodle, to our Golden Acres Clan!
 

Scooter was named Sam when he came to us matted and unkempt on January 1, 2006.
His owner had quickly tried to remove some of the mats and left a huge wound on his stomach where he had a 1" cut from the scissors.   It was the start of the New Year and a New Life for this little guy, whose owner said she simply wasn't into small dogs and no longer wanted him or his friend, a Pomeranian, who is now in her new, adoptive home.  I found it unfathomable that she could hand over these precious little dogs to a complete stranger, but was sure glad I got them, and especially The Bug!
 

It was pretty much love at first sight for me and Scooter.  I'd wanted a small dog for ages, and thought he was the one.  As usual, it was Dad that he had to win over.  I had been saying my prayers, but knowing Ed isn't much of a small-dog person, I wasn't terribly optimistic Scooter was going to get to stay.  However, Scooter has a way with people, and he wormed his way into Ed's heart too.

He's a Tiny Toy Poodle, only 4.5 lbs., but he lost his poodle look when the groomer trimmed all the fur off his matted  ears.
At least it will grow back!
