After a week
off of work to finish up the project, we're almost
there. The inside is painted, doors hung, windows
in, doggy doors finished.

Most of the
siding is up! All that's left is to install the
insulation, drywall, doors, window and swamp cooler!

Despite the
heat, the guys worked hard in erecting the frames for
the walls to the kennels today.
We now have
sides to our building, which will house four dogs.
Each dog will have his/her own space, approximately 150
sq. ft., including an indoor bed with doggy door access
to a large outdoor run. During the day the dogs
will be out enjoying their 1 1/2 acre play yard, and
will only be kenneled at night.
Coral, Dexter, Banjo and Jenni
supervise the "laborers" as they work on the kennels.
Banjo and Jenni were both rescued from the Orange County
Animal Shelter, and I'm sure they approve of our project
to assist more goldens in shelters!

The pad is
ready for construction!
A small pad was also poured for a
separate little patio area, where misters will be
attached as an extra source of shade and shelter from
the summer heat.

The
foundation is poured - finally!

After
a year worth of work on the irrigation system, we were
finally able to start landscaping! Pictured above
are trees generously
donated by GroWest Nurseries.
Ripley,
Coral and Dexter pose for pictures next to the newly
planted trees.
